Monero moves the Overton window of "what Bitcoin should be" exactly because its a separate project.
there aren't any solutions on Bitcoin that replace it.

I'm unconvinced depending on what you mean by replace. That function exactly the same? No, I agree. That allow private transactions within a higher layer? I'm still learning.

not saying they dont provide privacy
but they don't provide digital cash payments while maintaining 1st principles like Monero does
I guess I don't really care if all of the components aren't packed into a single layer. I think that has downsides too.
But one thing I agree with Monero people on wholeheartedly is that noobs should know the limitations of Bitcoin privacy.

but I'll use whatever gets the job done.
I agree that UX on most of these tools can be a lot better. Even Monero back when I used it. It's probably gotten better like Bitcoin stuff though. None of it is perfect.
