A revolutionary idea:
Boost your own notes with sats that go to the owner of the nostr client. The client owner then injects those notes into other peoples' feeds.
Wait. That's advertising. Let's not do that.
How do I delete this?
I think advertising could be OK if it’s opt-in, and it’s clear it’s advertising. Instead of faceless corporate taking in ad rev, what if instead the advertiser sends zaps directly to the ad consumer that opted in?
“Place a note into my feed if its sender zaps my profile with the note id in the zap comment field. Zap must exceed arbitrary amount set by me, like 10k sats.”
Yes, that’s great.
I wrote up a “pay for my attention” user story in this direction. Do not notify me of anything below e.g. 10k sats, or whatever you decide your attention is worth.

IIUc, your story is about reactions to my posts. Whereas OP is about others getting me to read posts by others.
I vote we call large zapping for reaction the “Frank Zappo,” and zapping for attention the “Reverse Zappo.” Then advertisers will have to bid in the Reverse Zappo Market.

That's what the Brave browser is all about, I think. Seems to be going okay for them, but sats for ad-viewing? I wouldn't do it, but maybe that could be turned into revenue for the relay operators as well.
Yes. Maybe with time there are paid relays like wine relay, and ad supported free relays
