No. Not accepting bitcoin for the goods or services that you sell is the problem. Exchange is just a workaround to that problem. Where there is a problem, there will be a workaround.

I have bitcoin, but I need meat. The meat seller does not accept bitcoin. So I take the most energy efficient way (for me, not for universe nor anyone else) to sell my bitcoin and get the meat.

It said KYC exchange, not exchange. Nothing wrong with currency exchange to purchase a product when there's no other option.

genuinely curious how do you return to fiat without KYC? and don't say giftcards or include PayPal or any fiat services that have potential clawbacks... serious question.

What do you mean “Return to fiat”? Why?

Just have two stacks of BTC , a kyc stack and a non-kyc stack. don’t sell back to fiat Lol.

Exactly. That's what I do.

If I need fiat, I'd get some on Peach, Robosats or Bisq. Depending on how small a premium you decide to charge, you can get your fiat in minutes.

I'd say Robosats is best in almost all countries.

But no, you can't have fiat, other than cash, without the fiat entity having the opportunity to rug you. But that's nothing to do with KYC, that's just first life.

nostr:npub17kvhxlt80pqnnp6cnkph8qvuyvuhwu9fyt0yem4msx62ww489zas3r9wn4 mentioned probably the best noKYC ways.

I take the risk of KYC for convenience in some use cases. Not fun, but keeping things simple is also important sometimes.

I've often said that cross border KYC can be a reasonable exception to the non KYC rule, because information sharing is mostly a psyop.

The point is if you live in a police state where you're supposed to be filing paperwork for each time you move between fiat and Bitcoin, you should be avoiding that completely for both convenience and for moral reasons.

Yeah, crossborder only, no paperwork.

There are also face to face deals for cash like this. But I have not tried that yet:

If you have local Bitcoin meetups, you can do it there too.
