A Raspberry pi4 can run a node. Downloading over TOR isnt the fastest but it's mostly verifying the blocks. Give it a few days and it should be good! If you go for @npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct you can even use it as a personal relay for Nostr!

How do I download blocks over Tor? Is there any coding involved cause I’m pretty brain dead when it comes to coding?

Just google how to run a pruned node. You can't run a full node with the HD space you have on those computers

Thanks I’m downloading the snapshot now. It’s a lot simpler than I thought.

Bear in mind that a Lightning channel needs to be online 24/7. So If you want to go for opening channels you'll have to keep it running all the time. If you just want to play around with Lightning and not have something running 24/7 it's best to use other services like getalby

For sure I understand that. These PC’s are already on 24/7 CPU mining on Cryptotab so that won’t be a problem.

Wait you are actually mining BTC in a browser with CPU?

Yeah I only get a few hundred satoshi’s a day with 2 PC’s but it’s decent not super profitable though. I can also mine on my IPhones through cryptotabs server mining and mix my hash rate with my IPhones, so it’s pretty cool. I’ve been doing it for over a year now.

Ok... Dont follow how this can be profitable but you do you!

It’s not unless you have free electricity. Apartment living sometimes has its benefits lol. Got the PC’s for free when my brothers work when bankrupt they gave away the old engineering PC’s.

Well this is the beauty of @npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct , it's made so you dont have to code. Just see their guides or watch some videos, it's very easy!
