I have to take this off my chest; accounts who follow just to gain followers and unfollow - this doesn’t feel like Nostr but more of IG.
Ofc, it’s ok to follow & unfollow or even follow back later. But some accounts do it often to a limit that sounds funny.
Nostr is genuine & authentic place. Let’s keep it like this so we spread love & appreciation through our zaps with the community we choose to build authentically! ⚡️🤍
That stuff is shady. At least just doing it and then immediately unfollowing.
My friend did that on Twitter for his travel blog back in the day. He had it all figured out (lol) and would follow/unfollow in a strategic way in order to up his engagement. Always seemed so dumb to me.

I try to make sure I follow those who interact with me on a consistent basis. Or those that share very knowledgeable information/helpful.
It’s ok to unfollow if at this pt of time u feel like my content let’s say is not in line with what u want to see. Maybe you feel interested later, maybe you don’t. But doing it regularly is so funny, sometimes I feel they forget that they did the same (follow/engage practice) multiple times already because it’s a generic approach and as such the connection loses its authenticity. Nostr is more beautiful than this! 🤍

For me personally, if a person over posts content that I don’t like to see I simply unfollow after sometime. I am mindful about the content I consume daily. If they change their content in the future I might be interested to follow back. I dunno. But I don’t unfollow and follow a lot to collect followers. That was and still is an IG silly marketing technique. I hope my pt is clearer now 🤍 🕊️
At some point in the future I may curate my followers a bit. Unfollow those who have Ben inactive for months or perhaps just aren’t into content that I wish to see here. For now, I’m trying to follow all that follow me with some exceptions to obvious spam/bot/nsfw/💩coin/troll accounts
I don’t have IG but on Twitter I thought the account with 50 following and millions+ followers were insane.
