The charge controller I'm looking to get for my solar/wind turbine set up includes a small dump load - am I right in assuming the electricity essentially just gets burned up and turned to heat energy?

Awesome, ty - basically the plan is to let it do its thing and try to keep some of the chill off in the boat this winter...may work, may not, but I'm gonna try
