Decentralized “web of trust” (search WOT) is a HOT topic of conversation. I encourage all to look it up here on Nostr.

A successful implementation will involve individual lists (curated by each person) of “more and less trusted” accounts. Some accounts will be “auto added” to your lists depending on your WOT filter settings.

Also… a successful implementation will be extendable, with new WOT filters being added by NIPs and clients for people to use.

“Trusted accounts” will be relative to each person, possibly including the accounts trusted by their trusted accounts. This will be a HUGE onboarding hurdle for new people. Understanding and using these new tools will take time. BUT having access to a deep web of trust upon account creation will be even MORE important!!!

Social onboarding will help. Friends inviting friends to nostr IS the way we survive.
