I was a school leader until a few weeks ago and throughout pandemic. Seems more precautionary at the moment but I know for a fact that school communities can overreact based on social media FUD. Have to remain vigilant though.
Last weekend, rule 2.13 was reinstated in the state of NY. TLDR: it allows health authorities to force isolation or detain you indefinitely for illnesses, at their discretion. The language is extremely vague, which can give the State extraordinary power in a “crisis”.
