I asked a “no kings” lib (they just want a different king) why they didn’t protest against the federal government as a whole.

They said that there would be complete chaos without the federal government and “somebody” needs to “control the corporations”.

I pointed out that modern corporations wouldn’t exist without the federal government which they scoffed at. But really, modern corporations need:

•Legal status and special protections granted by the federal government and backed by fiat militaries / police

•The ability for corporations to capture federal regulators, regulatory agencies and representative politicians (done “legally” & illegally)

•Federal subsidies

•Preferential federal tax treatment

•Fiat credit

•Fiat exchange rate arbitrage

Shit libs and retardlicans alike hate corporations and in many cases justifiably so. But attempts to have their preferred arm of the federal government regulate them is useless - corporations are an extension of government and vice versa.

If a federal government fails, so do all the massive corporations living off of its rotten teat. Simple.

If only I had a Satoshi for every time someone confused crony capitalism (socialism) with capitalism…

If there is a way to capture, it will be captured.

Without the help of the state, most big companies wouldn’t have been profitable and wouldn’t hold the monopolies they do. Change my mind.

The subsidies alone are the state picking winners and subsidizing companies so they don’t have to profitable or competitive. But the other factors compound and make modern corporations insanely unnatural abominations of the fiat times.
