She took the sim card and battery out of her phone and floored it
She drove as fast as she could
All day and into the night
Until she was ready to pass out
She pulled over on the side of a stretch of highway and closed her eyes
BAM
A car smashed into her
She wasn't hurt to bad
Just jerked around a bit
Nothing she couldn't handle
She made her way out of the car to confront the other driver
The other driver was passed out in the front seat
She checked and found a pulse
She had to ditch her car anyway but this isn't what she had in mind
She grabbed everything important out of her car
Put it in neutral and rolled it away from the other car then took the licence plate and put it into her bag
She got tools out of her trunk and crawled under the vehicle
It was a tight fit but she had just enough room to chip away part of the serial number using a hammer a power drill and a crowbar
Banging scratching scraping vigorously with all of the energy she could muster
Then turns and punctures the gas tank with the drill hoping it would look believable enough to have come from the accident or at least look like an issue that could have gone unnoticed
Bloody knuckles and scraped elbows she emerges from under the car
Throwing the tools back into the trunk after wiping them down
She wipes all the surfaces where she could have touched
She took a spare gas can half full out of her trunk
She threw it on the floor of the passenger side
She lit a cigarette and dropped it on the seat and used her registration papers to ensure a fire would start
As the paper ignites she makes her way to the car that hit her and searches the driver's pockets
she finds a phone and dials 911 using her sleeve as to not leave fingerprints
She whispers there's been an accident and drops the phone next to the driver
It should take at least ten minutes for anyone to show up at most a half hour
She isn't sure if the entire car will go up but she can't stay to make sure
Hopefully it wasn't a mistake
She goes over to the treeline and ducks into the woods keeping an eye on the scene while she puts distance between it and herself keeping out of sight
Then it happened
A loud explosion and flames shooting up and away from her car
The sinking feeling hit
She didn't move her car away far enough
And police sirens could now be heard
She turned and ran deep into the wooded area
Heart pounding
Breathing heavily
Thinking about the night before
Flashes of memory of complete bliss that she just left
She had to snap back to reality and focus on the now
And run faster
