Do not overestimate the population. Remember that democracy and freedom work with an informed, responsible population, able to understand the long term consequences of their choices. We are living in a world where people barely know the technology they are using, do not have capabilities to create grow their food or cure their diseases. The result is that they do not really know what is right and what is wrong, to feel right they follow others and the media opinion. At the end a little group of media owners and rich people can steer the population opinion on almost every matter. And yes I considered freedom a democracy great too... But
