flatpack should replace snapd.
Fight me.
Why? you are right… for desktops at least…
Agreed, settle on 1 open source standard please
Flatpack 🤔— Is that similar to a Fanny pack? Cause nostr:npub1el3mgvtdjpfntdkwq446pmprpdv85v6rs85zh7dq9gvy7tgx37xs2kl27r “Roger” has one of those!!—And he likes to fight😆😂
No fanny pack here 😂🦘
Have you tried this? Testing on a VM, is an exciting concept.
Agree that it’s an awesome concept. I’d be interested in hearing your experiences. I have one machine I can do a little playing around with, but I kinda like to keep it working, so I’ll have to read up on it some.
Pros:
Being able to run Android apps with zero tinkering. I toggled one switch and pressed one button and I am running f-Droid. #amethyst works great.
Overall UI looks pleasant. Ability to install an app from any Linux distro and access it via the shortcut in the menu.
Arch based.
Immutable.
Cons:
Partition drive into two volumes root and home didn't work for me.
RAM hungry, 2 GB won't be enough, barely survived with 3 GB.
Not a fan of KDE plasma. Looks pretty, but over the top IMO.
Android only works with gnome and plasma environments.
Will check it again later for sure.
Yeah, I’m not running gnome under any circumstances. KDE is way better than it used to be, but I don’t think I can go back after using i3.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks, man. I started with XFCE, and so far have not found anything that works better for me.
