The closest I've found to Twitter alternative, after trying many: nostr, Bluesky and Mastodon, is hands down with a landslide MASTODON. Bluesky is still... Meh . Nostr is just a bunch of maximilasits bitcoiners jerking each other off. Mastodon on the other hand, though still niche, if you join the appropriate instance, it could actually serve as a perfect alternative to Twitter, where you can find the latest news, trends and have an idea of what's going on in the world around you. Nostr is fun, I have to admit but there is no real conversations going on there except memes and randos begging for zaps ( bitcoin tips).

You're right about nostr. I haven't tried mastodon yet; I hear it's mainly used by techies. I've given up on blue sky because I never got an invite. I'll try threads when it's available on Thursday.

I'm really feeling Nostr but that has almost entirely to do with the fact I like bitcoin because, yes, mostly maxis and rando memes around here for the time being. I truly hope normal people come around, because Mastodon and BlueSky are both meh imo
