i can guess it's your pc's built in intel audio input, in which case, i got a cheap and cheerful Marantz USB condenser that works great, picks up sound perfectly, not Shure but it's adequate, and came with a very handy, very long cable that also carries 20W USB charge perfectly

if you are doing podcasts or video with your pc and need decent audio, probably a lot of other condenser mic USB audio devices are good options too - the Marantz was just quite cheap considering it's serious hardware

it may not be (only) the card reader interface also - on my crappy lenovo ideapad3 one of my ports is really nasty with RF noise to the point it interferes with all of the USB ports as well as making noise on the built in audio device

can't wait to get a better pc but i'm not bungling my next purchase like i did with this one

Thank you! I am on a cell phone at a farmers market, where we take mobile payments. I shouldn’t be taking video, but this was a moment when I was actually free to do so and a bee showed up (we’re beekeepers) randomly. In my haste, I forgot to disconnect the reader from the jack.
