Maybe it’s not a huge revelation, but it occurred to me when hearing this that when your mindset is doing your best, you’re thinking about yourself and your capabilities, but when your mindset is to do a task, the task itself is what you’re focusing on.

At first it seemed obvious which was the better solution. But now I think both strategies have a place. If your capabilities seem limited, maybe focus more on the task and take it step by step. If the task seems daunting, maybe focus more on what you know you can do about it.
