I did a Satogram the other day to promote my website with 1 sat. Maybe I should have bumped it to 2 sats, but I ain’t rich.
Nobody’s bothering to look at a message in a 1-sat zap. Waste of your money sending them. In fact I even hide transactions in my wallet under 21 sats. You’re a bitcoiner are you not? Don’t you value time? Treat people as if their time matters or otherwise you’ll get ignored.
Trying to charm the npub in question was waste of my time anyway. 😜 I appreciate your advice.
Damn, at 21 sats per satogram, that would have cost me 1,681,554 sats or $1,736. I’m just a pleb, man.
🤣 It’s probably still not worth it honestly. The problem with satogram is it’s just a blanket “send to all” tool. There’s no way to target particular audiences/demographics because that info is unknown to satogram. Nostr is a better for using lightning to advertise because you actually know something about the recipients. It’s not automated though because no one has built any such tools, but I imagine e that’s coming. “Zap x-amount of sats to all profiles that meet this criteria and include this message.” That would be far more useful than just yolo-ing 1 sat messages to everyone with no clue who’s getting them.
So from the total of my zaps, I partially used nostr:npub1ve8qwrlztemdmnh62jffcr0y9m9dpqgqjdg8ufx7gc3qw5wdk74qyv9ka6's geozapping 🌎⚡️ feature to only target American users on their app. I’ve gotten a few responses. I mainly just said to them “Hi, I’m MAB. Here’s my website, connect on Nostr.”
