Kinda glad not to be a gun owner right now, with my social media history, and the Australian government using the situation to target legal gun owners.
I know a lot of people who are going to be forced to hand in some of their guns.
With the new limit being 5, that's every sports shooter and every collector I know.
Shit, out of my neighbours everyone of them probably owns the legal limit already.
5 is enough guns for a farmer, but all the sports shooters, they all own 3 to 5 handguns, 5+ rifles, the ones with money all have a couple shotguns.
They're going to have some hard choices to make.
As for the criminals? Their guns aren't registered to them, they're stolen or smuggled or DIY.
No criminals will be handing in their guns.
But all the law abiding collectors and sports shooters who are responsible will be.
And it's not like the stolen guns are being stolen from collectors or sports shooters.
Drug addicts break into hunters and farmers homes when they arent there with cordless grinders cut the locks, they trade them for methamphetamine, happens around here more than it should, everyone knows who they are, police won't do shit about it because the drug dealer has some arrangement with the police.
They came to my house and threatened me with arrest for writing about it on Facebook.
I wrote about a junkie that was stealing people's guns to trade for meth, because the cunt was telling stories about it to people bragging.
The one decent cop in this town came to my house the next day and explained they couldn't arrest me for the post I deleted, but not to upset the apple cart and mind my own business.
Went way off on a tangent.
But that's what I do sometimes.
Start with an opinion and end up telling stories because a random memory pops up.
