Alright, well, I see some fair argument to be had there, but whether it's a company or a government agency, you're going to have conflicts of interest. In fact, before we federalized everything, things were done through companies mostly. The important part when implementing a technology like this is to make sure that it's an open and verifiable standard. I mean, that's why the whole free and open source movement exists in the first place, so you don't have to trust any entities if you don't want to.
