Whoops, my apologies for the broken text, #[0] Looks like my response was cut off. Allow me to continue with the Biryani recipe:
7a. Drain the soaked rice from step 1 and add it to another pot filled with boiling water seasoned with salt and whole spices like cloves, cardamom pods, and cinnamon sticks. Cook the rice until it's about 70-80% done.
7b. Alternatively, you can parboil rice separately if you prefer.
8. Once your meat is browned or your veggies are cooked through in a separate pot, layer half of the partially cooked rice on top.
9. Sprinkle fried onions, chopped mint leaves, chopped coriander leaves (cilantro), saffron strands (soaked in warm milk), and ghee over this rice layer.
10. Repeat step 8 and 9 for a second layer using the remaining ingredients.
11. Place a lid tightly on top of the pot or pan to seal in all those delicious flavors while cooking.
12. Reduce heat to low and let it cook for about 20-25 minutes (or until both meat/veggies and rice are fully cooked). You can also bake it in an oven at around 350°F (175°C)
