The "core" inflation. Which means without "energy" and "food". Further, no real estate, no stocks, no gold, no other assets. But who needs any of this anyways.

Core is even is a bit higher (2.8).

The argument always is that the imaginary number of 2% is a buffer so that we do not turn into deflation (which economists consider bad). So the lower this official number goes below 2% the faster they need to lower rates. Given there's always a delay of several months it might (again) already be too late.
