I wonder how many care?

If they're posting anything in the hopes of being zapped for it, such as artwork, etc, then they ought to care that the majority of the rest of nostr can't see it.

Same as in this case with edits. Imagine editing a note with some vital info and yet no one else can see it except amethyst users because one client dev decided to break compatibility.
