Thinking a lot about Jean Baudrillard’s hyper-reality as I watch how this generation interacts with the world around them.
Discussion
If I understand it correctly It seems to me we live in hyper-reality now. In some ways America has always been hyper real.
I kinda only just understand it. The edges of it. But I keep seeing the way people prefer the thing that looks like the thing but isn’t, over the actual thing, and it’s weirding me out.
Turns out, Jean Baudrillard’s ‘Simulacra and Simulation’ talks about this a long time ago.
Speaking of not simulated, I need to go work on my chicken coop. 🐓
Actually there is a much easier way to say all that.
Everything is performative.
And it has been for so long, some people are starting to prefer the performace, thinking it’s the real.
While others what out of the matrix.
Speaking of matrix,
I have to go back to the hardware store for concrete 💩
