No worries, normally nobody needs to know that to use nostr. The gist is, when you zap someone, they generate an invoice that your wallet pays. Once the payment settles (funds change hands), the receiving node posts an event (message) to your relays that has info about payment and an optional note. That is as simple as I could explain it, hope it makes some sense. 🐶🐾🫡

Sure, relay is the thing that users of nostr connect to. Relay stores and relays notes between users. Every time you post a note, it is sent to relay and then retrieved by other people who follow you, or in Global/Universe. 🐶🐾🫡

Ok, learnings are, #[1] doesn’t yet work with NIP-57. Best option for reliability is WoS so far! I’ll continue looking, thank you all for the zaps and your time! 🐶🐾🫡🫂
I have alby set up and connected to Zeus. Works perfectly with zap👌🏻
It does work for zapping others, but not when I am zapped and it is connected to my LND. 🐶🐾🫡

I don’t have I connected to my node right now but I tried it last week and it worked. Then I read that if you have it connected to your own node and make public zapps you’re doxxing you’re node. I’m not an security expert but I thought it was best to disconnect it.

if you connect your own node the zaps can not show in real time - that's the nature of connecting your own node where alby has limited visibility.

yes, but no realtime connection with payment updates. so zaps will be published but it will take a bit.

what relays do you use? and what client? but that should not be a problem as it is published to the ones your client says.

I am on Damus! I am not using snort relay at this time, it seems to be overloaded. I also use nostr.wine which should fetch and publish to many relays. 🐶🐾🫡
btw. changing the lightning address in the profile might invalidate old zaps. as clients check if the zaps are sent from that provider that is currently in the profile.
Yes, that is true. But even keeping getAlby address for a while never registered any zaps on nostr. Thank you for looking into this! 🐶🐾🫡
