where you need that file, along with being able to pull the app apk, side load it, and unlock the bitkey device itself?

for techno enthusiasts it may be straight forward. for the average person its targetted to, i have concerns

IF BLOCK SOMEHOW GOES OUT OF BUSINESS THERE WILL BE PLENTY OF US WITH THE APK READY TO WALK THEM THROUGH IT.

STILL STRICTLY BETTER THAN CUSTODIAL.

Yes, its better than custodial, but its also a bit nonstandard. I hope we have adequate ways to address it better than the samourai debacle

WHILE I LOVE SEED PHRASES I CAN SEE HOW THEY CAN BE A LIABILITY FOR NON TECHNICAL USERS.

THE “BREAK GLASS” FILE IS SIMPLY A PDF WITH AN ENCRYPTED BLOB IN QR CODE FORM.

INSTALL APK. SCAN QR. DECRYPT WITH BITKEY. SEND.

If bitkey servers went away, and the hardware is also bricked at the same time coincidentally, we are fucked for sure.
