why isn’t America’s historical architecture preserved, or cared about like Europe does for their history? It may not be as old, but it’s still important to our culture?

America’s sole problem is the impractical land use. Consumerism mindset has destroyed our beautiful land. I live 20 minutes away from the longest strip mall IN THE WORLD, and it was made by destroying all the beautiful valleys. All for something that has been losing the city money for over a decade.

you ever read any of wendell berry's stuff? he talks a lot about improper land use in an agricultural context, but imo you can expand his points beyond ag

love his work! if i was smarter i would definitely write a book expanding on the land use issues.

We would prefer to tear down statues and hate ourselves.
