Considering the complexity that would be required to keep that info accurate, what is the advantage of doing this over simply showing the relative local fiat currency price conversion? People already know how much $5 can buy them, for instance, without needing to see an image of a coffee cup next to it.

I see. I don’t hate the idea, just feels confusing having so many items, and with Nostr being global I’m not sure how you’d keep track of the local prices for so many things. But I like the idea of tying tipping to a real world item as it makes tipping feel more friendly. It reminds me of buymeacoffee.com. What if the user was prompted to choose one or two items/icons for their default tip options, and then the user enters their own local fiat/sat price for those items? If the person tipping disagrees with the amount they can always change it.
