New psyop just dropped. The existing standardness rules such as the 80 byte limit on OP_RETURN are now called "paternalisms", and a few devs have started to make moves to remove them from Bitcoin Core v26 and onwards.
This would change the default relaying policy to further encourage the use of Bitcoin as a permanent storage medium.
If you want to voice your concern over this development you can do it in this Pull Request: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/28130

Why would that bring chaos?
Because it is removing a limit that spammers will not use anyway because inscription are cheaper.
That's not how Bitcoin works in practice. If something is possible some people will do it even if it doesn't seem rational.
If we lift the 80 byte limit on OP_RETURN the most likely outcome is that we'll start seeing plenty of huge OP_RETURNs in the mempool in addition to the current inscription spam.
It’s even more critical than I thought.
Because it's an attack on #Bitcoin and the #owners and #users of #Bitcoin. It's meant to #damage and #destroy Bitcoin, and the #owners and #users of Bitcoin. That's why.
The usual #Wall #Street crowd of #fuckers are planning on making a #killing from #mining #stocks for #big #corporate #miners. With #artificially #inflated Bitcoin #transaction #fees. Basically #taking #money out of your #pocket every time you make a transaction.
Typical #middleman #bullshit. It's the #antithesis of #Bitcoin..⚖️👮♂️💀
The rationale from the third picture is mine.
