Word of the day: "Shrinkflation"
As the government continues to steal purchasing power from its population so they can print more aircraft carriers, the resulting inflation gives product/service providers only a few options to offset rising costs:
1) Make product cheaper (this is why real food/natural ingredients are becoming increasingly hard to find; chemical slop is cheaper to industrialize and scale)
2) Reduce size of product and hope consumers don't notice / keep buying anyway
If a particularly ethical company attempts to stand their ground on the above, and continue making a high-quality product that isn't pumped with chemicals or covered in deceiving marketing, the government sends a band of thugs (under the guise of "consumer safety" of course) to shut them down, so their lobbyist sponsors can crush them and eat their market share.
Thanks for playing!
