Here’s a counterargument for #filters. The whole premise of #consensus is that all participants agrees on the same set of rules. Your node, your rules is not how #Bitcoin works. The network already operates under a set of rules that have been publicly agreed upon. By running a node, you help to make sure these rules are followed, contributing to their collective implementation. You may as well fork off the network if you think it’s your node, your rules.

Mempool policies aren’t strict consensus rules. Strongest filtering is to run node in blocksonly mode, so not relaying unconfirmed transactions by other parties at all. It’s still full node as it fully validates every new block.
