Now, my brother, who didn’t play as many video games as me ended up getting a girl pregnant in high school and that nearly ruined his life. Half of his life he was miserable. Lucked into a decent job early on - and I really mean luck… and that saved him.

My brother got a degree in computer science, never got a job, and plays video games all the time. He never knocked anyone up, but being childless didn't enhance his life.

I have a few in my family, that don't play video games, no weed or intoxicants, have been childless and plan to be for their remaining lives, making a scapegoat of things you don't like/understand is stupid. Let people enjoy their lives and have experiences they like.

People use various outlets differently. Sounds like your brother is using games to escape reality but that doesn’t make games bad or anything - it’s an outlet like many others.

I suspect he has autism and perseverates on video games. It might be unrelated to the games itself.
