Why 7? Are you and your wife done having kids? Do you have a blended family? I have many more questions, but this will get the conversation started.
Discussion
We aimed for 6 and got a bonus. 😄
Not blended.
Probably done.
In this day and age a lot of people would say 7 children is to many. I have 4 kids and many people say “4 is a lot, why so many?” Generally my answer is “If I would have met my wife when we were younger we would have had more.” We are both stocky people and we joke about “having an entire offensive line” 😀 Do you feel some negativity/judgement in questions from people with smaller/no family? Sometimes I do, but I’m not sure if it’s them or me.
Yes, sometimes we catch a whiff of "that's too many," but surprisingly we hear more positive comments than negative. It's definitely challenging financially and logistically (sometimes emotionally, with disciplinary issues) but each little life is so unique, so amazing, so fun, we wouldn't trade it for anything. The older ones help a lot with the younger ones so it's not as hard as most people imagine. And most importantly, the Lord provides what we need.
We did discuss 6 even before we tied the knot, but with the caveat that every child should get a brother and a sister. That means 4 minimum, with max undefined 😄. It took us 7 tries to get a 2nd girl.
