For 16 years Bitcoin has been around and for the vast majority of that time it's been the best-performing asset, I wonder why so few people still bother to own any, there's so much more education, so many ways to acquire it and self-custody has never been easier, what are the normies doing instead?

Most people cannot differentiate volatility from risk. I honestly think it is as simple as that, and it means people will ignore or misunderstand bitcoin until it has at least flipped gold.

If you want to put the tin foil hat on, it would be psyops to make people hate it longer so "they" can get in position. I don't know if I believe that but retail will never get a free ride.

I'm with you, but I think even if we flip gold you will still have a large cohort of ass fingerers saying it's going to fail and will try to fight it, of that I have no doubt

A psyop even if it was true is only effective if you're a passive person who doesn't bother to verify and trust and you gotta pay the price. You can ignore reality but not the consequences of reality
