Anyone with a #bitaxe have issues connecting to mining pools due to their wifi router? #asknostr
It simply won’t connect. I switch to mobile hotspot and it connects. I’ve tried almost every setting on router I can think of to change.

Mind telling us what router you're using? Sorry curious but have you also changed trying the DNS servers? Is it possible to change the IPV4 settings on the Bitaxe manually without DHCP?
Curious to find out the answer to this one..
Haha got it working nostr:note1gz0q4g8m7fmq8lujgdqyttx9a824kny8ugfzjrc5n5sdcygh2e3qhzxmmk
Reading the specs looks like its exclusively 2.4G wifi.
Your phone may be creating 5G hotspot.
I'm guessing.
Ended up being a firewall rule that didn’t clear until after hard reboot
2.4G wifi... your router (wifi) need a 2.4G signal network.
Yes the wifi connection is fine. It’s some setting of the router that’s blocking connecting to pools so no hashing occurs
Ok, so connection isn't the issue. Next step is to check if it's related with the DNS (resolv the pool domain) or some port blocking in the router.
With a computer behind the route (use the same that bitaxe), could you try to resolv the pool domain? search for curl in case you want to test.
I am not focusing in bitaxe configuration because you said that using another network, without any change, the bitaxe works.
Thankfully got it working. Turned out it was a firewall setting that must not have actually disabled despite GUI saying so until router was reboot. Appreciate your willingness to help 🤙
Do you have a firewall running anywhere that could be blocking ports?
Haha yup that was it. Damn AI firewall. I disabled it before but didn’t reboot router and it didn’t make a change so I didn’t think it was that at first. Did it again with reboot and got it working.
You should probably identify the IP of your BitAxe and conffigure an allow for it in your firewall.
Rather than remove the whole thing..
And 🙏🏼for the zap
