The more glaringly obvious this fact becomes, the more adverse in effect it manipulates.

Almost like the anxiety from personal debt, gets people to cope buy buying themselves shit (more debt) their future self had to pay for. Just to momentarily distract them from the feelings of anxiety.

Immediate need for gratification. They can't even stop. What a vicious cycle.
