The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has reportedly killed a Hamas commander, Mohammad Abu Itiwi, who was also a staff member of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The IDF claims Itiwi was involved in the abduction and murder of Israeli civilians. UNRWA has not confirmed or denied the allegations.

In related news, US and Israeli negotiators are expected to meet in Doha to restart talks on a ceasefire deal and hostage release in Gaza. The meeting comes after the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was seen as an obstacle to a deal.
