nostr will not succeed if this is the case
i love the tech, it's the future, all social should be like this, but this new user onboarding is way too frustrating for nostr to succeed
there has to be a better app or something out there that helps with this? i want to like & use nostr so bad =(
literally scrolled today and came across some random account I don't follow posting CP links
So far I'm really sure any app that helps will also filter way too many real users. It will be big news when a better nostr client comes along. And you're right, nostr won't succeed until then 🤙

it was hashtags! i found out why and yup, when I used damus/nostr a long time ago I followed several hashtags, and I guess some of these bots or bad actors snuck in with one of the ones I followed. changing those now, thank you so much
The best hashtag is asknostr but the bots get in there too
