I bought my first bitcoins over IRC. More recently I’ve used exchanges, folks here dislike that approach.
What’s a good option for purchasing peer to peer today?
Robosats is a great option for ease, security and privacy, and I know many people swear by Bisq and Hodl Hodl
Just keep your kyc/exchange stack separate from your kyc-free stack if you start one 🤙

Big fan of buying via robosats (and tbh the only one I’m really familiar with)
Runs over Tor, fees are low, it runs over Lightning but will give you a swap to on-chain if requested. And the escrow model makes it pretty secure so it’s highly unlikely you’ll get ripped off using most fiat payment methods
