One of my favorite features of Nostr is that I don't need to get permission from some central authority to develop stuff to use it.

I don't need an API Key to retrieve events.

I don't need to register my name or a phone number with a central authority.

I don't need to buy X amount of credits or sign up for a 7-day trial.

With a constrained budget in traditional systems a paywall stops me in my tracks. But with Nostr, things are either no cost, or I can pay with lightning. Can't stress enough how micropayments help

I can write some code, try stuff out, make changes, try some more and eventually get to a point where I find it useful enough

Where possible, I do all my testing in production.

I hope Nostr is opening up possibilities for others as well.

Funny you mention that, today, a bot that I follow on Twitter won't come up in my feed anymore. (Even if I click to view profile) It shows inscriptions people make as they are being made. Twitter is permissioned, not a permissionless.

Wow. I've been refraining from posting inscription info here on nostr but it would be fairly trivial to setup a bot to show latest inscriptions or what's in the mempool using my existing nodeyez scripts.

Here's an example from an inscription that got confirmed in block 779642

Since I follow less people here, it might be a bit unbalanced in my feed, but I'd still look through an inscription bot's account every now and then if there was one. I liked to be aware of the trends. (Collections, teleburning, .sats DNS names) i never bought any of it, I just want to know about everything that happens on Bitcoin. Also this "sovereign rollup" stuff came out of dickbutts inscriptions on Bitcoin.

Same. πŸ’œ
