Have to say that this #vinyl sounds really cool with the #minimalist ortofon red + Klipsch system. Can’t wait to try the blue. Anyone here tried other ortofons? #asknostr
Yeah, have both the Red and Blue.
I absolutley love how both those carts are voiced. They’re definitely not a flat EQ and I think that’s a benefit for how they sound. I’ve had carts that sound too analytical, these both sound musical. (How’s that for hi-fi snob talk!)
The Red is a good all-arounder, sounds fantastic with hard-rock, metal, hip-hop, anything scooped EQ.
The Blue won’t really make those records sound much better IMO, but where it does shine is acoustic music, folk, jazz, vocals. That’s where it shines. And it really does. A lone acoustic guitar on a good mix will sound 3D. You’ll hear the wood. In some instances you can close your eyes and the musician is the room with you.
Thanks! I think it’s worth to have both, after all, it looks easy to change the capsule
Yes! You can swap the stylus if you’ve already bought the Red cart.
For everyday use I have an Ortofon VNL which is a DJ cart inspired by the legendary (now discontinued) Shure M44-7, which I use to save the wear on my other carts. Sounds good as well.
