Do you notice that we already had feeds that funnel traffic to posts based on how much they get zapped, which my posts can't compete in because I don't have zaps enabled?

See your point(s) but not an aspect of nostr I really concern myself with. I see my follows fine, and I don't particularly want wider attention.
If I did I'd say natural social forces more than lightning or algos would be the bigger barrier. By that I mean, like popularity, public appearances, recognition for some important work, etc.
