#[0] got me thinking that I have called the purple check marks a verification before, but he’s right that it’s more of an identification, a human readable version of your pub key. I updated my guide with that in mind

Thank you. You're now within spec, too. The spec does not mention verification at all. The spec ONLY mentions that NIP-05 is an identifier.

I believe I coined the phrase "human readable identifier for your public key".
