Hmmm for the driver yes… for the people who might have hearing disabilities or elderly and children it might be helpful so bit divided on this

It’s the driver’s task to not hit people. I always drive like no one can hear me coming, regardless of if I’m driving a noisy car or not

Yeah but it’s important for people who are walking, biking, etc. to hear you coming.

It’s an extra safety measure for when not everything goes right.

Indeed. Driver’s the one with the responsibility.

I just think that EV’s being very quiet might be hard for some people to notice, even “normal” people who might be distracted.

But I agree that faking the sound is totally fiat
