Its a cornelian cherry its not really a cherry at all it's a dogwood, cornus mas this one is called jolico. I can send you some seeds or try and/or graft it. Its astringent but sweet I reckon you could make something really good with it

Looking this up it showed me barberry underneath and I thought hang in a minutes that looks a lot like mahonia 😅

😆 to be fair the berberis darwini can look a bit similar... if you only look at the fruit 😁. Have you ever made anything with those two?

Not yet managed to find a bush that had enough fruit to be worthwhile

Yeah that's an issue, you aren't likely to find them in the wild.
