Something I regret I have not done coming to cryptoanarchy space is staying anonymous. The technologies and vibe is such that this is possible to a large extent and we have good role models.

The catch there is not being a jerk while being anonymous and that some people can't handle. But we also have good role models.

To be fair, some people fail at the not being a jerk even if they're not anonymous.

It’s never too late to begin, but it might be too late to regret not starting sooner.

Starting now means lose all then reputation.

In advance, the amount of content out there with you name on it, increases chance you will be deanonymised by correlation.

Good example is the Unabomber. He got cought because his brother recognized the style of his ideas/manifesto and warrant was issued by the linguistics analysis.

It was in 1996.

There are always trade offs indeed. However an alter ego can coexist with the eponymous persona while there is an exit and transformational plan on a path of a gradual disappearance; via that duality the digital reality can be redefined. With that many AI tools broadly available available at the moment, the birth of virtual personas can be commoditised soon before most people do care about who’s behind what virtual persona. It’s 2023.

Do you think it is possible? I am starting right now and after a lot of research I decided not to go this way. Are you sure, you could reach as many people as you do right now while staying anonymous? And dont you think it might be potential waste of time, when you can make mistake any day and lose the anonymity? (Or somebody can use some technology as voice detection etc.)

Depends what you do. But coding anonymously is really smart these days.

I am a book author, so that not so much. But still possible.

Well, you are a book author/influencer/youtuber/podcaster/speaker on stage and it is all interconnected (one cannot exist without another, becouse it supports each other by bringing more people). I cannot imagine how it could be done anonymously. I would also love to be anonymous now when I am trying to start a youtube channel, but after some research I just cannot see the way through. I was even thinking about reanimating my face by AI, so the face would not be detectable, but still better for people to watch then mask or no face, but I really do not want to pitch my voice into the weird sounding anonymous voices and also I want to be able to visit different podcast, where they are not going not pitch my voice anyway, so what is the point…)

Gigi does it anonymously, so it's definitely possible.

When I searched for “Gigi anonymous” in DuckDuckGo, all I got was a porn :D. What platform is he using?

Nevermind, got him (and of course knew him, just did not realize)

🤣🤣🤣

You can still become a jerk 🤷🏻 that option is still available for you.

Beying anonymous for sure makes my posts less self censored, less researched and falling more into a category of emotional strawman arguments just to vent.

So yes, for what you do, it's probably better for the quality of your posts that you're not anon. Probably...
