Not like this is something new, and not like you can do a anything meaningful about it, most of this is virtue signaling, which sickens me.

True, i just wish it was a monetary Timechain without all the BS

I mean you CAN limit the amount of data that is allowed to put in OP_RETURN, which makes it harder to do.

They’re removing that config i think in 30 ?

Yeah that is why a lot of people are up in arms. It is true that you cannot completely stop people from attaching whatever data they want, but a low limit makes it harder. Right now they have to make numerous transactions and stitch the pieces together.

I did say meaningful

How is it not meaningful? You make it harder to easily embed unwanted content. Saying it isn't meaningful is like saying putting locks on your house isn't meaningful because someone could still get in if they just try harder.

I've heard this talking point before, which is the whole thing that saddens me, I'm not against people wanting to run knots, but stupid repition of talking points like these make it seem like a psyop.

Anyways to reply, It's more like putting a lock on an open door, plus it corrupts incentives OP_RETURN is meant for data we can safely ignore doing stupid stuff like this incentives jpeggers to bloat the UTXO set, which is much worse.

OK I see there's a tradeoff between bloating the UTXO set with these tiny stitched together transactions vs just letting them put more data into OP_RETURN, which can be pruned. I haven't listened/read much so I'm kind of forming my understanding now.
