A group of bipartisan lawmakers sent Facebook Instagram a letter asking the firm to delay shutting down CrowdTangle for six months. The lawmakers argue Facebook Instagram has a responsibility to be transparent about the content being shared on its platform ahead of the 2024 election. Researchers, journalists and others use CrowdTangle to measure what misinformation is trending on Facebook and Instagram.
