He didnt quite say that. He said "arguably worse than a shitcoin". You could argue that, but I think it's stretching. The life cycle of liquid is that it's 1 to 1 with bitcoin so the coins were created fairly by miners, rather than most shitcoins which print their own tokens. I guess the argument is that federations can steal, but that seems unlikely. Dont like that federation, than start your own with elements.

"Print their own tokens" it doesn't change that they hold your Satoshi and gave you worthless token, just like shitcoin...

Block stream gave name and face to this product and suddenly liquid tokens are bitcoin...

The similar situation I see in Lightning Labs and stablecoin on Taproot...

People see big names and suddenly stop thinking...
