I could care less about what anybody else is doing. I really could care less about the badge. It's neat to have a low membership number, but it's just a number. Before this I had zap splits setup for Damus, and I've said in the past I'd subscribe if Will set one up. I like to support the devs. I usually give Vitor at least 1k sats each release (and god know Amethyst has at least 15 releases a month) and if there was a similar subscription for Amethyst I'd sign up for that too.

I pay for relays and storage on nostr.build because that shit ain't cheap. If we don't support them this goes away. Nostr infrastructure without income will not scale. it's semi manageable at 10k users. 100k? Without some sort of income stream to offset the server and storage cost? We'll just rotate through different people trying to make it work and bankrupting themselves. Or worse some corp that slowly become 'The' relay and slowly slide into centralization.

I'm sure not everyone here gets that, but I'd like to think the majority do.

And I think people aren't giving more in general because thinking is sats is hard. 10,000 sats is sooooooo much. But thats like $4, which isn't that much.

And if no one says We need this much, people don't know how much to pay them for their work.
