I do it all the time - several times a day.

I once read that we 'practice life' in our minds to be better prepared and to integrate the information we already have.

Sometimes I think I get a little carried away with it, and I laugh a little at myself, but I don't repress it. I'll rehearse an argument or ponder making the first move in a street fight, and then try to analyze how I did and what I should have done differently.

It's no different than running computer simulations or practicing a skill. It's your mind practicing and preparing itself.

You might need to tone it down a bit if you physically injure yourself. I haven't done that....yet. I have upset the dog quite a few times, though.
