In Green, if 2FA-protected coins don’t move for a period of time that you determine, your 2FA protection expires.
This ensures that if you lose access to your 2FA method, you can recover directly from the Green app as long as the Blockstream Green service is up and running, or else with CLI.
But CLI recovery is not easy! So you really don’t want to lose track of when you last did a 2FA refresh on the bitcoins that you hold long-term in a 2FA-protected account in Green.

So in 4.0.30, we're rolling out a new alert system for expired 2FA coins. 🥳

🚨 These new alerts provide transparent and clear in-app communication about wallet status. Multisig 2FA accounts will now be informed when they have coins with expired 2FA.
💰 Users can spend their funds as usual to refresh the 2FA or choose to redeposit their coins to reactivate the 2FA.
🖥️ For added privacy, users can manually redeposit their expired coins one by one on the desktop app using manual coin selection (mobile soon™️).

Right now, Green users can set up 2FA secured nostr:npub1nyyhnqahf3cgqzcc927x7eqyd2msgplfe27ddn6hpgu2m200wh2s0s7gan accounts and benefit from fast, cheap, and Confidential Transactions.
2FA expiry alerts will be coming to Liquid accounts on Green shortly.
Simply create a new Liquid account by accessing the settings in the top right. ⚙️
